Melanie Steele – Walker-Miller Energy Services, LLC

Melanie provides oversight and integration on all aspects of the operations for Walker-Miller Energy Services (WMES), LLC including areas of sales, marketing, and finance. She possesses more than 15 years of experience in leading high performing teams in cross-functional settings. She is also active in promoting and advocating for removing energy efficiency barriers in the market place both in the federal and state level.

Her project management experience includes collaborative joint work with partners, customers and team members intended to deliver successful project completion that is on time and under budget. Her ability to build consensus and develop positive working relationships has enabled the organization to stay competitive and deliver gains to WMES customers.

Most recently, Melanie has contributed in building WMES’ success to become Habitat for Humanity’s Community Partner of the Year, INC Magazine’s 2014 and 2015, 5000 Fastest Growing Business in the US, 2014 Crain’s Cool Places to Work, SBA’s Small Business of the Year for 2015, and Michigan’s 50 Fastest Growing Companies.

Most notably, Melanie was selected as Crain’s 2014 40 Under 40. Melanie’s educational background includes leadership training at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, Certified Energy Manager training from the Association of Energy Engineers, Professional Building Analyst from the Building Professional Institute, Graduate Project Management Certificate from Walsh College and an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Detroit Mercy.
