Detroit – May 20, 2011. The founder of Agents of Hope, Mr. Shola Salako, escorted/chaperoned students of Martin Luther King Senior High School on a field trip to the Detroit Institute of Art (DIA). The students explored the institute’s vast collection of art and gained immense knowledge about the origins of various types of art forms.
On the bus trip, Mr. Salako shared his West African high school experiences with the students and expressed how fortunate they were compared to students in third world countries. He wished he had had such opportunities growing up and he encouraged the students to help the less fortunate when they get into positions to do so.
Special thanks for Ms. Norma Heath and Ms. Ebony Foster for allowing Agents of Hope the wonderful opportunity of sharing in this unique experience.
